About
Hi, I'm Joe.
I'm happiest outside, hands in the dirt, working with the land instead of against it. That's why I started Big Foot Yard and Home — to build and grow things I could stand behind, without cutting corners or handing the job off halfway through.
I got tired of watching homeowners deal with contractors who disappear after the sale — you meet a salesperson, then a crew of strangers shows up to do the actual work. That's not how I run things. If you hire me, I'm the one measuring, digging, framing, and finishing — the same guy from the first walkthrough to the final photo, with no compromises along the way.

Where it started
Before any of this, I was a certified automotive technician. Diagnosing engines teaches you things that carry over directly: how to find the actual problem instead of guessing at symptoms, how to work to a tolerance that doesn't leave room for “close enough,” and how to stay level-headed when a job doesn't go exactly to plan.
When I moved into contracting and landscaping, that mindset came with me. I didn't learn this trade from a textbook or a classroom — I learned it the same way I learned to fix cars: by taking things apart, figuring out how they actually work, and doing the work myself until it was right.
Over the last few years, I've been able to apply those same skills from automotive work to make homes beautiful, inside and out — the same attention to detail, the same refusal to skip steps, and the same rule that a job isn't finished until it's actually finished.
How I work
I diagnose before I quote
Years of troubleshooting engines taught me to find the actual problem before touching anything — not guess off a five-minute walkthrough.
I'm the one with the tools
No subcontracted crews, no rotating faces. Hire Big Foot Yard and Home and you're hiring me — on site, hands-on, start to finish.
No corners cut
If it's not done the way I'd do it in my own house, it's not done. Licensed, bonded, and insured — but that's the real standard.
Straight answers
Clear pricing, honest timelines, and I'll tell you if something isn't worth doing. I'm building a reputation, not chasing a quota.
My guarantee to you
Every project I take on is backed by a workmanship guarantee, but the short version is simpler than any warranty document: I stand behind everything I build. If something's not right, I come back and fix it. That's not a policy — it's just how I was raised to do a job.

Local & hands-on
I live in and work in Arlington, WA — this isn't a franchise territory to me, it's my neighborhood. From the first walkthrough to the final inspection, and I'm still reachable long after the job's done if anything needs a second look.
